Vietnam is a potential market for environmental protection technology due to its low awareness of the consequences of air pollution. According to surveys, the levels of indoor air pollutants are 2-5 times higher than outdoor levels. Although some indoor air quality monitoring products have been put into use, they only provide basic parameters. tMonitor addresses this concern, with an indoor air quality monitor comprising 13 in-depth indexes. This allows users to monitor multiple air quality parameters, analyze trends, compare time data and identify problems to provide the most accurate solutions for greening the atmosphere and protecting their health.

tMonitor applies internet of things (IoT) and machine learning for real-time monitoring of air quality and alerts users automatically when the environment becomes dangerous or toxic. Unlike its rivals in this field, tMonitor manufactures its hardware in Vietnam.

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) is indispensable for advanced technology products. tMonitor’s AI is capable of identifying air pollution problems, predicting air quality indexes at a given time and automatically sending alerts when abnormal data is detected. tMonitor also integrates cloud that allows users to conduct in-depth analysis and activate filters based on pollution levels.

tMonitor was named the Asia-Pacific Champion of IBM Watson Build 2018 in San Francisco, the Winner of the Sao Khue Award 2019 and the First Prize of IoT Startup 2019. In addition, the startup won the Startup Wheel 2021 competition and the Open Business Council Award 2021, and was honored for its contributions in the post-pandemic era.

Currently, tMonitor products are deployed in many industrial zones, schools, offices, government projects and small- and medium-sized enterprises in Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue and Ho Chi Minh City. CEO Hai Nam said the startup is in the process of raising capital for mass production and product commercialization. According to its roadmap, the startup can better quality and accuracy of indoor and outdoor air monitoring equipment within one year; integrate equipment into automatic air conditioning control systems and ventilation fans in buildings within three years; and install a total of 15,000 devices in industrial zones, factories, schools and specific outdoor areas within five years.

Project 844 on facilitating the national startup ecosystem until 2025 aims to develop the innovative start-up market. The Newspaper of Industry and Trade has been acting as a bridge to support these start-ups, help them expand markets and contribute to their efficiency.
