(VEN) - The Thua Thien Hue Province Department of Industry and Trade has stepped up administrative reform and launched promotion events of Vietnamese goods to rural areas, to facilitate domestic production and sales.
The Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign’s steering committee and the Thua Thien Hue Province Department of Industry and Trade have placed special emphasis on bringing Vietnamese goods to rural, remote areas and industrial zones. In the first eight months of 2018, the north central coastal province organized 18 shipments of Vietnamese goods to rural areas, including seven shipments to markets in Nam Dong, A Luoi, Quang Dien, Phu Loc, Phu Vang and Phong Dien districts and Huong Tra Town. Vietnamese goods were distributed through 22-40 pavilions in each of the markets.
Thua Thien Hue has built models of connecting producers with distributors and consumers while encouraging organizations and individuals to buy and use Vietnamese goods.
Particularly, the provincial Department of Industry has implemented administrative reform to help businesses develop production and sales. The department also strengthened market management, and strictly dealt with market and price law violators to ensure the rights and interests of producers and consumers.
The province has created favorable conditions for organizations and enterprises to promote their brands and improve their product quality. As a result, the presence of provincial products in distribution channels has increased. Notably, provincial dumpling and tea products have attracted buyers inside and outside the province.
The Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign has contributed greatly to increasing the presence of Vietnamese goods in Thua Thien Hue, especially in the province’s rural areas. Vietnamese goods have attracted a growing number of buyers. About 60 percent of goods offered in the province are Vietnamese goods.
The campaign’s steering committee plans to keep upgrading the campaign and making people proud of becoming Vietnamese goods users. The committee will also encourage Vietnamese goods producers to improve their product quality while helping them form value chains and apply advanced technology to production in order to increase quality and minimize cost.
Thua Thien Hue Province will continue to implement the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign. The province has set a
target of making Vietnamese goods account for 80 percent of all goods distributed in the province, and all districts,
towns and cities have sustainable points of sales of Vietnamese goods.
