(VEN) - The model of Vietnamese goods points of sales established in the north central province of Thanh Hoa last year has proven efficient and the province plans its expansion.
The Thanh Hoa People’s Committee issued the plan to establish a point of sales pilot model labeled “Proud of Vietnamese Goods” in June 2016. Businesses, cooperatives, business households and small traders that have registered their business and fulfilled their tax obligations were selected to participate in the plan. Commodities at the points of sales are required to be domestically produced and diversified in type, with priority given to agricultural, forestry and fishery products, especially provincial specialties. In addition, they must meet the standards of quality, food safety and origin.
The Thanh Hoa Mountainous Trading Joint Stock Company was the first to take part in developing points of sales in seven supermarkets in Quan Son, Quan Hoa, Lang Chanh, Cam Thuy, Nhu Xuan, Nhu Thanh and Thuong Xuan districts. In each supermarket, the company allocated 65-300sq.m to build a separate area for Vietnamese goods. In particular, all points of sales have been marked with white logos on a red background, creating strong visual impact. The goods at the points of sales have been carefully selected. As a result, revenues at all points of sales in the province have been increasing.
Vietnamese goods points of sales in Thanh Hoa Province are located in areas of high population density, where people’s shopping needs are relatively large. This has contributed greater economic benefits for businesses and effectively promoting high-quality products. After a period of implementation, Vietnamese goods have received positive response from consumers and points of sales have become a highly reliable shopping destination.
Promoting the 2016 results, Thanh Hoa People’s Committee continues to build points of sales in 2017 aimed at distribution of quality goods in order to meet local consumers’ needs and tastes. These points of sales are required as a place to promote consumption of domestically produced goods and provincial specialties. New points of sales are being established in the mountainous districts in the west of the province, with priority given to Muong Lat, Ngoc Lac, Ba Thuoc and Thach Thanh districts.
Those selected to participate in the development of points of sales are businesses, cooperatives, business households and small traders that have registered their business, fulfilled their tax obligations and have committed to maintain the points of sales for at least five years. The conditions for participation are stable business premises in markets, supermarkets and convenience stores. Subjects will be supported in terms of funding of up to VND70 million for making signs, printing and hanging banners around the points of sales, buying display shelves and promoting advertising in mass media.
The Thanh Hoa Mountainous Trading Joint Stock Company, the Thang Chung Trade Services Co., Ltd., and Duong Thi Thang business household have been qualified to participate in building points of sales. These will be launched at the end of the year to serve shoppers ahead of the Tet Lunar New Year holiday and other celebrations.
The Thanh Hoa Department of Industry and Trade is planning to further expand the model in order to support domestic businesses in the consumption of Vietnamese goods.
