Thai Minister of Commerce Apiradi Tantraporn recently directed the Department of International Trade Promotion, Department of Foreign Trade and provincial trade offices to support trade promotion activities in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) and their emerging markets.

Thai brands will enter CLMV markets through the organization of trade fairs and exhibitions. The Thai Ministry of Commerce and relevant units will organize a line-up of activities to connect Thai businesses with their partners in neighboring countries.
The ministry will continue its successful projects including the Young Entrepreneur Network Development Program (YEN-D) which aims to link young successful businesses in the CLMV and Thailand. To date, some 800 young businesses have joined in the project and generated some 2.5 billion THB (1 USD = 33 THB) from trading activities.
From October 2016 to July 2017, numerous Thai businesses entered second-class cities in ASEAN, China, India, Russia and South Africa and earned over 6 billion THB.
Earlier, the Thai Ministry of Commerce organized five fairs to introduce the country’s top brands to Siem Reap and Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Yangon (Myanmar), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Vientiane (Laos).
