(VEN) - Hanoi’s art-loving public had an opportunity to explore the art of Don Ca Tai Tu (southern folk music) via the photo book entitled “Don Ca Tai Tu - Love lyrics of the country” by photographer Nguyen A.
The art of traditional Don Ca Tai Tu with more than 100 years of history was acknowledged as an intangible cultural heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Don Ca Tai Tu has brought full vitality for the cultural life of the public, contributing to creating the richness in the southern cultural treasure.
The photo book with the title “Don Ca Tai Tu - Love lyrics of the country” by photographer Nguyen A has brought an attractive information channel in terms of the art of traditional southern folk music. Around 150 stories by photo and information in terms of folk artists, amateur singers and harpers, researchers and writers of several generations in the south such as late Professor Tran Van Khe, Music Professor Vinh Bao, People’s Artist Vien Chau, Artist Van Trien and Meritorious Artist Tam Dau were recorded with full of emotions.
To produce the photo book, Nguyen A went to 21 provinces and cities from the southern central coast to the south during two years to capture moments of ecstasy and sublimation of artists in singing folk music and their daily life.
Nguyen A believed that the art of traditional Don Ca Tai Tu would be everlasting.
Photographer Nguyen A said that Don Ca Tai Tu should be featured in a photo book, rather than separate pictures.
