Greening Vietnam: One billion trees to be planted by 2025

(VEN) - Under a program for planting at least one billion trees in 2021-2025, 690 million trees will be planted around urban and rural areas and 310 other million trees will be cultivated in protected, special, and production forests. The target for this year is 182 million trees, with 204.5 million to be planted each year in the 2022-2025 period.

(VEN) - Vietnam’s leading environmental policy-makers, business leaders, local and international organizations have endorsed an action platform aimed at slashing plastic waste on land and its discharge into the ocean, and develop a roadmap to eliminate single-use plastic and non-biodegradable plastic bags, especially in cities, coastal tourist destinations and marine protected areas.
