Six Vietnamese to join Cannes Lions 2018

With nearly 500 contestants from 241 teams in three categories including Films, Digital and Marketers, Vietnam Young Lions 2018 has found the top six talents who will represent Vietnam at Cannes Lions 2018.

The Vietnam Young Lions 2018 Awards ceremony was held on April 18 in honor of NS Team (Huynh Phuc Hau and Tran Thi Khanh Van) who won Marketers category, JUST ANOTHER Team (Tran Phuong Anh and Phan Vu Thoai Lam) who won Films category, and WHATEVER Team (Le Nguyen Ly and Bui Tuan Trung) who won Digital category.

AIM Academy, the organizer of the competition, will sponsor a trip worth nearly VND1 billion for the six young winners to compete in Cannes Young Lions 2018 from June 18 to 22, 2018 as well as experience the Cannes Lions Creative Festival.

The Awards Ceremony also announced a potential student who wins Roger Hatchuel Scholarship this year. From June 18 to 22, 2018, the five-day training program in the framework of Cannes Lions Creative Festival will provide this student and other international fellows the opportunity to get in-depth training about creative skills.

At the Awards Ceremony of Vietnam Young Lions 2018, Pham Thi Dieu Anh, managing director of AIM Academy and head of the organizing committee, said, “The number of contestants has increased significantly (from 100 teams in 2016 to 241 teams in 2018).

“The competition attracted not only marketing and communication specialists but also independent artists and Vietnamese enterprises, especially SMEs. Vietnam Young Lions 2018 has become a common playground for the Vietnamese creative community who share the passion to bring Vietnam to the world.”

Under the theme of “Live with The Heart of A Lion”, the competition gathered the best minds from leading multinational corporations in Vietnam such as Unilever Vietnam, Suntory PepsiCo Beverage Vietnam, Dutch Lady, and Nestlé Vietnam.

Notably, this year also saw many Vietnamese brands participating, such as Biti’s, NKid Group, VinaSoy and agencies like The Purpose Group, Mirum Vietnam, TBWA Vietnam, Edelman, and MindShare Vietnam.
