(VEN) - The Vinh Tan 3 Energy Joint Stock Company (VTEC) and the Harbin International Power Projects Company from China concluded an agreement on October 14 in Hanoi for construction of the Vinh Tan 3 Thermopower Plant project.
With three turbines and a combined capacity of 1,980MW, the plant is the largest coal-fueled thermopower project at the Vinh Tan Power Center in Binh Thuan Province, to be developed by the VTEC in the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) form.
The plant will provide 12 billion kWh per year contributing to ensuring sufficient power for socioeconomic development.
The VTEC was established on April 15, 2009 by three shareholders – Electricity of Vietnam (contributing 29 percent of all capital), One Energy Ventures Ltd. (49 percent) and Thai Binh Duong Group Joint Stock Company (22 percent)./.
