Scientific seminar: Update on cancer prevention and treatment using HITV immunotherapy

(VEN) - The Gia An 115 Hospital recently organized a scientific seminar "Update on cancer prevention and treatment using HITV (Human Initiated Therapeutic Vaccine Therapy) immunotherapy" with the participation of Dr. Kenichiro Hasumi (Japan), experts and doctors from Government departments and hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases in Vietnam. In 2018, new patients increased to almost 165.000 people/96.5 million people, among that nearly 70% pass away, equivalent to 115.000 people (according to the report of Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Director of K Hospital, Director of National Cancer Institute).

With highly appreciated achievements in cancer immunotherapy, Dr. Kenichiro Hasumi had a discussion as well as update latest medical information and knowledge about global breakthroughs in the field of cancer with doctors at Gia An 115 Hospital.

In Japan, Dr. Kenichiro Hasumi is an expert in cancer immunotherapy as well as final stage cancer care and treatment. He is also a researcher on cancer vaccine development and has extensive experience in this area.

Dr. Kenichiro Hasumi is M.D. - Chairman of Shukokai Clinic, Hijirigaoka Hospital, Hijiri-no-Sato Elderly Health Care Facility, and The Electro-Chemical and Cancer Institute (Tokyo, Japan). Dr. Hasumi is a visionary researcher focused on the development of cancer vaccines and improved clinical treatments to achieve better patient outcomes with a higher quality of life. He has been involved in cancer immunotherapy research for more than 40 years.

He specializes in immunology, oncology, gastroenterological surgery, and surgery terminal & palliative care.

His Awards and Achievements include: Established “K. Hasumi Professor Chair” at Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College, USA (2015); Received Doctor Honoris Causa of Medical University–Pleven, Bulgaria (2014); Granted the badge of honor “For special merit to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences” from the Executive Council of the Bulgarian, Academy of Sciences, Bulgaria (2010); Granted the Spirit of Change Award from The Kimmel Cancer Center, Thomas Jefferson University, USA (2007); Granted the Medal of "National Order of the Southern Cross" from Brazilian Government, and Granted Camara Municipal De Sao Paulo, Brazil (1996).

Gia An 115 Hospital is the second hospital located in Hoa Lam Shangri-La Hi-tech Healthcare Park, Binh Tan District,

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). It is licensed by the Ministry of Health and is a general hospital, which is a roof for various
