(VEN) - Vietnam currently has 3,100 engineering enterprises with 53,000 production facilities, including 450 state-owned companies, 1,250 centralized production facilities and 156 privately owned enterprises. Most of them are small-scaled and run outdated technology. Vietnamese engineering producers have satisfied just more than 20 percent of the domestic market’s demand.

Vietnamese doctors now can perform multi-organ transplants in humans without the direct consultation of foreign experts. Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Manh An, Director of Military Hospital 103, who directly guided and performed the pancreas-kidney transplantation, emphasized that Vietnamese physicians meet international standards.
