(VEN) - Polyclobiphenyl (PCB) is one of the 22 Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) which has been used as an ideal additive in some industries such as insulated oil of transformers and capacitors, hydraulic oil, paint and printing ink. However, PCBs have not been produced since the 1970s after the toxicity to human’s health and the environment was discovered.

(VEN) - Long droughts damaged 300ha of 2012 summer-autumn rice in A Luoi District, Thua Thien Hue Province. The very cold weather as a result of climate change destroyed the subsequent winter-spring rice crop having a traumatic affect in the mountain poor district.

(VEN) - On November 13-14, a new model on doing exercises combined with protecting lake environments was launched for the first time in Hanoi with participation of the People's Committee of Thanh Nhan and Ngoc Khanh communes, the veteran’s organization and inhabitants of the communes who live around Thanh Nhan and Ngoc Khanh lakes.
