Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Cong Tac said scientific and technological tasks have focused on supporting the development of products according to value chains in order to create goods and services bearing Vietnamese trademarks, with high added value and competitiveness.

Many production lines and products have been successfully designed and manufactured, with quality standards equivalent to imported goods, such as making prefabricated mild steel production lines for residential houses and industrial plants, and transferring some of them to domestic and foreign partners like Australia and Chinese Taipei. Other achievements include completing and mastering technology in designing and manufacturing industrial robot arm machines; manufacturing horizontal paddy drying system with a capacity of 150 tonnes per batch; designing and manufacturing a number of jigs for welding car chassis; and manufacturing equipment to produce electric cables.

They are also the foundation for improving product quality in order to meet customer requirements. In its development process, THACO continues to promote scientific and technological activities, he said.

“THACO wishes to continue to receive attention and support of the government, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Quang Nam Province, especially in the development of science and technology, training of high-tech human resources, and research and development activities,” Tai said.

In order to promote technology transfer and improve the science and technology level of enterprises, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a cooperation program on scientific and technological activities during the 2017-2020 period. It will focus on researching, selecting and proposing a number of large-scale scientific and technological tasks and key ministerial-level scientific and technological programs in order to promote the development of support industries, engineering, oil and gas exploitation and processing, deep processing of minerals, and energy.
