(VEN) - The Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) said that Vinachem exported US$61.6 million worth of rubber products in 2013, increasing by16.2 percent on 2012 and accounting for 26 percent of the group’s total export revenues.
Several Vinachem member businesses grew rapidly in terms of rubber product exports, including Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company exporting US$43 million worth of rubber products (a 16 percent increase from 2012), Da Nang Rubber Company US$15 million (up by 20 percent) and Gold Star Export Rubber Company US$3.6 million (up by 2.5 percent).
Automobile tire and inner tube exports grew the fastest. Specifically, tires amounted to 543,000 units, a 32.2 percent increase, and inner tubes 250,000 units, a 57.7 percent increase.
The group’s traditional export markets such as Laos, Cambodia, Singapore and Malaysia continued to grow fairly high, contributing US$32.7 million worth of export revenues, growing by 23 percent and accounting for 53.2 percent of Vinachem’s total export revenues /./
