Stopping by Danang City on the central coast, the competing teams will be invited to join many activities including attending Cau Ngu (fish worshiping) festival designed for fishermen to ask the God of Nature for health, and safe and sound fishing trips, joining Danang Barefoot Run program aimed to raise awareness on environmental protection, visiting UNICEF-supported centre for children with disabilities, and enjoying folk music performances and local food.

In particular, the 12 Round the World Clipper teams will be participating in a yacht parade in the Han River on February 25 when the Han River Bridge is raised.

Huynh Duc Tho, chairman of Danang City, said the city has made preparations to ensure all members of the teams will have a good time in the city.

Established by Robin Knox-Johnston, the first person who traveled around the world by boat in 1968-1969, the Round the World Clipper Race helps train semi-professional sailors. Up to 40% of this year’s race participants are amateur sailors who represent 20 nations./.
