The Military-run telecom group Viettel in co-ordination with the People's Committee of Dakrong district presented 146 breeding cows worth over VND2.4 trillion to poor households in Dakrong district, Quang Tri province, on September 14.
After reserving cows, the families were encouraged to build standard cowsheds. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also opened training classes on breeding.
The breeding cows are part of Viettel’s plan, which aims to help residents stabilise and improve their family finances.
According to the plan, Viettel is scheduled to present over VND20 billion to Dakrong district, Quang Tri province in the 2014-2016 period to build 166 houses, each worth VND60 million, construct Dakrong district’s medical station worth VND4.9 billion, and donate 303 breeding cows, each worth VND17 million.
The remainder of the cows will be presented to poor households in Dakrong district in the coming time./.
