Quang Ninh province organised a conference on April 22 to implement the Government’s Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP dated January 1, 2019, discuss the in-depth analysis of the competitiveness index (PCI) in Quang Ninh province for 2018 and provide directions, solutions for sustainable improvement of PCI 2019.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Doc affirmed that, with the determination and efforts of all levels, sectors, business community, and investors who have accompanied Quang Ninh province in improving PCI, the province has retained the top spot in the PCI 2018 rankings. Through the conference, Quang Ninh province is expected to receive many in-depth comments and solutions of experts, investors and enterprises to continue improving the investment and economic environment.
With over five years of implementing Resolution No. 19/NQ-CP (now Resolution No. 02) and nearly three years of implementing Resolution No. 35/NQ-CP of the Government, Quang Ninh province has achieved positive results. In order to maintain the top spot in PCI 2018 rankings, Quang Ninh province strongly improved its investment and business environment.
In 2018, Quang Ninh province will, for the first year, carry out administrative reform assessments for the central agencies in the locality, including: police, customs, tax, social insurance, banks, and government; along with implementing solutions such as using social networks to receive recommendations and suggestions of people and businesses; maintaining the monthly "entrepreneur coffee" model with different topics to promote and solve difficulties for small, medium and micro enterprises; holding provincial-level conferences every six months to meet businesses in the area.
In order to continue to maintain their position in the top spot of PCI 2018 rankings, in 2019 Quang Ninh province will make efforts to improve and maintain high-ranking indicators; in which, focusing on improving and exceeding the scores to upgrade the three main indicators of informal costs; legal institutions and security; and business support service index.
