The Industry and Trade Promotion Center of Quang Binh Province surveyed 150 rural industrial establishments that benefited from 2011-2015 industry promotion programs.

The survey shows that 146 facilities were operating well, two facilities shut down and two other establishments were under restructuring. Labor index, average income and investment capital of the surveyed enterprises had increased since they benefited from the programs’ assistance.

The center says it has been doing a good job in choosing assistance beneficiaries to ensure efficient investment and local advantage utilization.

For example, the center provided VND250million to the Ngoc Thuy Fine Art Wood Co., Ltd, helping the company to build a technical demonstration model for production of rubber wood chairsfor export. Since it was put into operation, the production line has helped increase the company’s productivity, product quality, revenues and profit.

The Tan Hoan Cau Corporation Joint Stock Company worked with the Anh Lua Viet Joint Stock Company to procure Japanese technology to produce Binchotan (one kind of coal). The project has a total investment of more than VND70 billion, VND300 million of which is funded by the national industry promotion program. It has been put into trial operation and proven effective. Tan Hoan Cau Corporation is expected to recover its investment capital in the next seven years.

The Quang Binh Province People’s Committee issued regulations on industry and trade promotion to further create favorable conditions for provincial industrial manufacturers to develop production, with priority given tobig investment projects, projects using advanced and environmentally friendly technology, and labor-intensive projects.

The province will support beneficiaries with up to 60 percent of their vocational training cost (no more than VND45 million per training course), up to 50 percent of advanced technology and equipment application cost (no more than VND150 million per establishment), up to 30 percent of their technical demonstration model construction cost (no more than VND300 million per model), and up to 50 percent of their information technology product branding cost (no more than VND35 million per brand).

The province also provides assistance for industrial infrastructure development, environmental protection and cleaner production in industry, new energy development, and industrial development promotion.

Quang Binh also supports trade promotion, prioritizing Vietnamese goods fairs in mountainous and rural areas, and rural industrial product exhibitions.
