(VEN) - On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the trade union of the oil and gas sector recently organized a propaganda conference in the city of Vung Tau.
Luong Thi Hong Nhung, Deputy Director of the Department of Propaganda, Training and Domestic Science of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), said that in the recent period, the group had to cope with numerous difficulties and challenges directly affecting production and business activities as well as the lives, employments, incomes and thoughts of people working in the oil and gas sector. In this context, in order to maintain and bring into play worker strength and promote PVN’s sustainable development, the standing committee of the oil and gas sector’s trade union has coordinated with the PVN Executive Committee to provide guidance for implementation of major tasks and work schedules approved at the sixth congress (2018-2023 tenure). Thanks to serious implementation and creativity of lower-level trade unions, workers’ movements have been maintained and developed, helping improve the spiritual and material lives of oil and gas workers.
The trade union of the oil and gas sector has effectively applied information technology to carry out propaganda and education activities via websites, emails, groups and social networks. In the first six months of 2019, it organized events and provided instructions for oil and gas workers to participate in the 2019 Workers Month. The trade union of the oil and gas sector has also established a collaborator network to enhance the effectiveness of communication and propaganda activities.
At the conference, trade union officials from the Vietsovpetro Joint Venture, the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company (PVFCCo), the Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), the PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation (PVD) and the Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC) contributed their opinions on propaganda and education activities. They proposed the application of Industry 4.0 technology and specific measures to ensure the highest effectiveness of these activities.
Tran Quang Dung, member of the Standing Committee of PVN’s Communist Party Committee and head of the group’s Communications and Business Culture Department, praised the results of propaganda and education activities carried out by the trade union of the oil and gas sector. Regarding tasks for the coming time, he emphasized the need to tighten linkages between all grassroots-level trade unions in the sector in order to ensure the most effective implementation of communication and propaganda activities.
At the conference, the trade union of the oil and gas sector presented certificates of merit to specific teams and individuals for their active contributions to propaganda activities. The PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) was among the recipients.
