Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his deputy, Trinh Dinh Dung, and a government delegation on September 30 paid a visit to the northern mountain region province of Dien Bien.
PM Phuc visits a household relocated due to the construction of the Son La Hydropower Plant
In the provincial capital city of Dien Bien Phu, Prime Minister Phuc inquired after a number of households relocated due to the construction of the Son La Hydropower Plant and encouraged them to work hard to build a new life in a new place.
Later, he met with the leaders of the city’s Noong Bua Ward, which was established in 2003 and has 5,750 residents belonging to nine ethnic groups.
To date, the ward’s infrastructure has been significantly improved, thereby raising the living standards of local residents.
On behalf of the Party and State, Prime Minister Phuc praised Noong Bua for its efforts to relocate those displaced by the Son La Hydropower Plant and urged the ward to tap into its inner strength to promote local economic development.
The same day, the prime minister and the government delegation offered incense at the A1 Cemetery for fallen soldiers in Dien Bien Phu to commemorate the heroic martyrs who made selfless sacrifices for the cause of the national liberation struggle./.
