Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited Vietinbank and Vietcombank, two of the largest lenders in Vietnam, on February 21 on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

At the Vietinbank headquarters, the Government leader extended his best wishes to the bank’s 24,000 employees and congratulated the bank on its achievements in 2017.
Emphasising 2018 as a critical year of the 2016-2020 period, the PM asked Vietinbank to enhance its financial and administrative capacities, as well as to take action on improving the quality of credit.
On the same day, PM Phuc visited Vietcombank where he commended the lender’s contributions to national economic development.
He urged the bank to continue pushing through banking technology development to bring in new breakthroughs in its operation.
Last year, Vietcombank’s total assets rose 31% to more than US$44 billion with pre-tax profits reaching over US$440 million. It also boasts the title of bank with the lowest bad debt ratio at just 1.1 percent.
