Speaking to the staff of Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that many people are impressed by the sophistication of Chu Dau pottery after examples of the pottery were excavated in Cu Lao Cham, in the central province of Quang Nam.
The Government leader spoke highly of the efforts made by the leaders of the Hai Duong province, Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro) and Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company in reviving the quintessence of Chu Dau pottery.
The PM asked the company to develop the products on both domestic and international markets, as well as to pay more attention to artisans, in order to preserve and promote the traditional values of Chu Dau pottery.
Chu Dau pottery became well known at the end of the 14th century, and reached its peak during the 15th and 16th centuries. Chu Dau ceramics not only inherited the quintessence of pottery making during the Ly-Tran dynasties, but also developed into a form of pottery that featured beautiful patterns and bright enamel.
In 1992, the Chu Dau archaeological site was recognized as a national relic site.
