Two-way trade between Vietnam and China reached US$93.6 billion in 2017, up 30% year-on-year, and accounting for 22% of Vietnam’s total import-export turnover. Of the total, US$35.4 billion came from Vietnam’s exports.
Vietnam posted a trade deficit of US$28 billion with China in 2016. The figure was down to US$22.7 billion last year, a positive sign in improving the bilateral trade balance.
