The PM was received at the airport by representatives from the Austrian PM’s Office, the Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam, Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Le Dung and officials of the Vietnamese Embassy, ambassadors of ASEAN member countries in Austria, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Austria and some European countries.

Shortly after his arrival in Vienna, PM Phuc met with officials and employees at the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria, as well as representatives of the Vietnamese community in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, PM Phuc extended his sincere regards to the overseas Vietnamese, encouraging them to foster solidarity and mutual support to integrate well in the native society.

He also praised the Vietnamese Embassy for its preparation efforts, which would contribute to the success of the visit.

Expressing his pleasure at the overseas Vietnamese community’s sentiments towards the country, PM Phuc informed them of Vietnam’s socio-economic development situation over recent times, emphasising that the leaders of European countries highly appreciate the Vietnamese community for their intelligence, diligence, hard work and fine compliance with the host countries’ law.

The overseas Vietnamese community is an integral part of the Vietnamese nation, he said, asking the overseas Vietnamese to preserve the Vietnamese culture and language in their second and third generations.

The PM urged the overseas Vietnamese to abide by the host nations’ law, condemn acts of law violation and work to safeguard the prestige of the Vietnamese people.
