Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his spouse left Hanoi for India on January 24 to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit and the 69th anniversary of the Republic Day in India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived at Palam military airport in New Delhi on January 24 afternoon, beginning his trip to India to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit.
A welcome ceremony for the PM was held at the airport with special art performances staged by Indian artists.
PM Phuc is scheduled to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and visit the Vietnamese Embassy in India the same day.
He will attend a retreat between ASEAN leaders and the Indian PM, the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit and a ceremony to issue the ASEAN-Indian commemorative stamp set, and visit a painting exhibition on ASEAN-India ties on January 25.
The leader will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of the participating countries and major groups of the world and Asia.
