This year, the program will assist eight northwestern provinces with setting up a northwest tourism booth at the 2016 Vietnam International Travel Mart to further promote regional destinations and environmentally and socially responsible tourism options to domestic and international tourists, said Mary McKeon, Team Leader of the European Union-funded Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Program (EU-ESRT).

These provinces welcomed nearly 16 million tourists and recorded nearly VND10 trillion in tourism revenue last year as a result of joint efforts and an intensive investment of more than VND25 trillion.
