(VEN) - President Nguyen Minh Triet gave Vietsovpetro a Ho Chi Minh Medal on its 28th anniversary. Vietsovpetro has extracted 180 million tonnes of oil from the Bach Ho (white tiger) and Rong (dragon) fields.
Apart from crude oil, the company has also extracted more than 20 billion cubic meters of associate gas. It constructed an onshore general service facility to serve oil and gas service operations. This facility supports Vietsovpetro's new operations, assists service businesses inside and outside the oil and gas sector and contributes to national defense and security.
Vietsovpetro hopes to extract 6.4 million tonnes of crude oil in 2009. The company is now working on a project which will extract gas from the Nam Rong and Doi Moi fields. An EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractor of the project to construct a gas pipeline from lot B - O Mon, Vietsovpetro is working with the PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC), the Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) and other related organizations to complete this project by the end of 2011.
