(VEN) - According to the General statistics Office, more than two million foreign tourists came to Vietnam in the first quarter of 2015. Of these, more than 1.7 million tourists came to Vietnam by air, down eight percent compared with the same period in 2014; 18,058 tourists came by sea, down 36.7 percent; and 289,346 tourists came by land, down 35.8 percent. The number of tourists from the Republic of Korea grew 31.4 percent; from Finland up 28.2 percent; Spain up 10.8 percent; Singapore up 7.1 percent; Italy up six percent; the US up 2.9 percent; Japan up 0.8 percent; and Germany up 0.2 percent. In the first quarter, tourism companies served 19.5 million domestic tourists; total revenue from tourism reached nearly VND96.36 trillion, up 1.9 percent compared with the same period in 2014.
