The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) held a ceremony in Hanoi on October 17 to announce and honour 100 outstanding industrial products from rural areas in 2015.

The event was part of the national industrial promotion programme as regulated by the government, which seeks to discover and honour products of high quality and value, aiming to satisfy consumers’ tastes and boost industrial development in rural regions.
Among the 100 honoured products were 25 handicrafts products, 40 products from the agro-forestry and seafood sector, 25 products from the machines and spare parts sector and 10 products from other sectors.
The products which applied for the award should not have violated intellectual property rights, industrial ownership, and other regulations relating to quality, labour safety, food hygiene and environment protection standards. The products should also be able to be produced in large quantities to meet the market’s demand.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh praised the enterprises with outstanding rural industrial products, while emphasising the importance of the activity in encouraging organisations, businesses and inpiduals to manufacture exemplary rural industrial products contributing to industrial development in rural areas and improvement of farmers’ lives.
He urged the MoIT and localities to exert greater efforts to realise the Party and State policies on rural industrial development, with a focus on boosting industrial promotion activities and directing investment incentives on supporting enterprises’ production, market expansion, management capacity and competitiveness./.
