(VEN) - Since the beginning of this year, the Center for Business Studies and Assistance (BSA), in association with the Business Association of High Quality Vietnamese Goods and the industry and trade departments of northern localities, have organized 12 market days to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas. Despite numerous difficulties, these activities have yielded positive results.
Market days bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas of the northern provinces have attracted consumer attention
Since 2009, such market days have been organized frequently in southern provinces, enabling rural consumers to buy quality products at reasonable prices and helping businesses deploy sales agents and distributions in rural areas.
To popularize this sales model, since the beginning of this year, BSA has organized market days to bring Vietnamese goods to northern provinces and cities. Since early April, 12 market days have been held in two consecutive months in the five provinces and cities of Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Quang Ninh. The sale of high-quality Vietnamese goods included products by more than 20 domestic manufacturers, including Nutifood, Cholimex, Duy Tan, Qui Phuc, Tam Lan, Kim Hang and My Hao.
According to Vu Kim Hanh, President of the Business Association of High Quality Vietnamese Goods, the participation of 20 businesses from southern localities enabled consumers in the north to get to know products of companies recognized as high-quality Vietnamese goods manufacturers. The market days also provided northern consumers with access to safe agricultural products of many businesses based in Ho Chi Minh City.
The market days have proven attractive to consumers. The one in Lang Son Province’s Van Quan District, for example, attracted a large number of visitors and buyers during its five-day run. Some companies, such as the Kim Hang Aluminum and Plastic Joint Stock Company and the Qui Phuc Company Limited, a plastic furniture manufacturer, even ran out of goods in light of the unexpectedly high demand. Safe agricultural products also attracted significant attention from shoppers.
The market days are usually events lasting three to five days. They have not only brought several billion dong in sales for each company but also enabled them to set up sales agent networks in new localities where the market days were held and in neighboring provinces, such as Hoa Binh, Dien Bien and Son La. In the second half of 2017 and ensuing years, market days of Vietnamese goods will be held regularly in northern provinces so that consumers in the most remote areas of the country can obtain easy access to quality Vietnamese goods.
