The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) today held an exchange ceremony for a strategic partnership agreement with Insmart Joint Stock Company (Insmart), the largest third-party administrator (TPA) in Vietnam.

With this collaboration, healthcare travellers from Vietnam with insurance policies within Insmart's network of insurance providers, which include Prudential, MB Ageas Life, as well as reinsurance company SCOR, will be able to acquire seamless medical treatment coverage with a direct billing model in selected Malaysian private healthcare facilities.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Shobena Singam, Vice President of Communications of MHTC, said, “Insmart will serve as Malaysia Healthcare's point of contact and marketing arm in Vietnam, acting primarily as a one-stop center to facilitate healthcare travel arrangements for insurance policyholders in Vietnam heading to Malaysia for treatments. This includes the provision of pre- and post-hospitalization assistance via Insmart’s existing network of providers, as well as the organization of empanelment activities between insurance companies and private hospitals, providing an option for policyholders in Vietnam to choose Malaysia especially for their Hepatitis C and Oncology treatments with a direct billing model”.

Malaysia, the Hepatitis C treatment hub of Asia, offers the latest treatments with high cure rates at low costs. Through the years, it has also cemented a reputation as a cancer care center of excellence with a myriad of sophisticated treatments, expertise, and technologies that are widely available. “With our strategic partnership with Insmart, healthcare travellers from Vietnam can opt for Malaysia being as a safe and trusted destination to complement the healthcare offerings available in Vietnam. In Malaysia, healthcare travellers from Vietnam can have access to some of the best private hospitals in the Asia Pacific and be covered by their insurance policies,” commented Mr. Mohd Daud Mohd Arif, Chief Executive Officer of MHTC.

“Insmart’s partnership with MHTC, which promotes Malaysia’s healthcare travel industry via the Malaysia Healthcare brand, is the right step forward towards providing wider healthcare options to healthcare travellers in Vietnam. The country is globally renowned for providing end-to-end high-quality medical services that are easily accessible by all, and we are pleased to be able to assist in extending their offerings to Vietnam.” said Mr. Cheam Teck Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Insmart.
