(VEN) - According to Decision 7768/QD-BTC, Long An’s Industry Promotion and Development Consultancy Center was assigned to carry out six national industrial promotion projects phase one in 2013 with a total funding of VND865 million.

They include one project on brand development and registration for industrial products; two projects on building performance models; one project on providing equipment and machines to solar panel production lines; one project on establishing rural industrial businesses and one project on organizing regional industry promotion conferences.

In addition, the center also had a mission to deploy 11 local industrial promotion projects phase one in 2013 with a total funding of VND783.360 million.

The leader of Long An’s Industry Promotion and Development Consultancy Center said the province planned to develop the local handicraft industry, then promoting the provincial rural industry. Over the recent years, building performance models and applying technologies in production have always accounted for a large proportion in the total number of projects and funding of the provincial industry promotion (10 out of 23 industry promotion projects in 2012). These projects brought positive changes in terms of productivity and product quality for local businesses and rural production units.

For example, the performance model project on a production line for classifying, treating and packing lemons helped the production unit of Nguyen Van Chien in Luong Hoa Commune, Ben Luc District cut production time almost by a half. Previously, it took 14 days and 20 laborers for treating 20 tonnes of lemons by hand, but with this production line, it only takes seven days now. Besides, the lemons are fresher and better in taste, and the storage time is also longer.

With support from industry promotion activities, Hai Dong paddy cutting machine supplier got enough capital to invest in machines and equipment to complete its products. In the coming time, it plans to expand consumption market in Northern provinces and in Cambodia as well.

Similarly, the performance model on jute harvesting machine implemented by the center and Chin Nghia agricultural machinery production unit in Long Thanh Commune, Thu Thua District helped farmers reduce labor power, improve the material jutes and efficiency for jute growers.

Industry promotion activities in the southern province of Long An continue to prioritize building performance models, innovating equipment and applying modern technologies in production to develop agriculture-based industrial products.

The leader of Long An’s Industry Promotion and Development Consultancy Center said despite modest industry promotion funding, in general, the projects on building performance models and applying technologies in production have contributed to encourage businesses and production units expand their activities, helping to create jobs for a large number of rural workers. In the coming time, apart from fulfilling industry promotion plans and targets, the provincial Industry Promotion and Development Consultancy Center will continue to prioritize supporting performance model projects and applying modern equipment in production to raise the technology contents in agriculture-based industrial products. Particularly, it will give priorities to projects in localities with low developed handicraft industry, or in remote and particularly difficult regions ./.
