(VEN) - By November 26, the Vung Tau Gas Processing Company (KVT), a member of the PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) has fulfilled its 2018 production plans as assigned by the corporation.
Specifically, on September 20, the company fulfilled the annual condensate production plan 102 days ahead of schedule; and on November 26, it fulfilled the annual liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production plan 35 days ahead of schedule, with 239,000 tonnes.
KVT achieved these encouraging results thanks to the guidance of the company’s leadership and great efforts made by its staff members. Human resources, the management system and corporate culture are major factors contributing to the company’s successful operations. Besides, emulation campaigns and other activities launched by its trade union to promote worker creativity have also contributed to KVT’s success.
To achieve these results, KVT, in particular, and PV Gas, in general, have had to cope with numerous difficulties.
Specifically, the demand for use of gas produced with gas lift methods at Vietsovpetro’s drilling platform has increased, while the amount of gas transported onshore from the Cuu Long Basin keeps decreasing, especially since August 2018. The system that works to raise the LPG recovery ratio at the Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant (GPP) commenced operations in April. However, the Ba Ria Thermal Power Plant has reduced/stopped gas purchases from GPP for a long time, leading to increased output gas pressure and reducing the efficiency of the LPG recovery system.
Condensate exploitation from the Thien Ung Gas Field has enabled GPP to increase its condensate and LPG output. However, condensate from the Thien Ung Gas Field contains acid impurities and heavy hydrocarbons that can erode and reduce the efficiency of heat exchangers at GPP.
Unfavorable objective conditions have required the entire leadership and all staff members of KVT to strive their utmost at every work stage, from operating and maintaining equipment to quality control and transportation, following the guidance of the leadership and technical departments of PV Gas, and with the support of related units.
The results it achieved in 2018 reflect KVT’s efficiency and are expected to motivate the company’s greater success
in ensuing years.
