Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu recently discussed joint action to prevent Covid-19 infection and promote economic cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides talked about the current situation of Covid-19 and the results of pandemic prevention in each country, and agreed to tighten cooperation to increase bilateral exchanges.
Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh praised the pandemic prevention results achieved by the Japanese government and expressed gratitude for Japan’s support for Vietnam in the fight against Covid-19, especially the support package for Vietnamese students in Japan.
Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu praised the impressive results achieved by Vietnam in controlling the spread of Covid-19, which have also been praised by the international community. He thanked the Vietnamese Government, National Assembly and people for providing Japan with medical facemasks and helping Japanese managers and experts come back to work in Vietnam.
Minister Motegi affirmed that Japan would continue providing Vietnam with medical equipment and materials based on Vietnam’s demand.
He proposed discussions to resume travel between the two countries to boost economic cooperation, trade and investment.
