(VEN) - The Dong Nai Province People’s Committee talked with the Japan Airport Consultants, Inc. (JAC) about the Long Thanh International Airport project on May 14.

Accordingly, the JAC would revise the project to make it more convincing before submitting to the National Assembly for approval.

The project was included in the Dong Nai Development Plan, and the province would be responsible for ground clearing operations, which would cost about VND20 trillion, and resettlement of about 5,400 families with more than 17,000 people for development of the project.

Dong Nai has planned two resettlement areas on about 540ha and an airport surrounding area on 21,000ha.

The government of Japan is very concerned about the project as it would use Japanese official development assistance (ODA) capital.

Japanese related agencies held a meeting to discuss investment capital for the Long Thanh International Airport project in Vietnam, while Japanese consultants paid attention to related projects such as transport, wastewater treatment, drainage, power, telecommunications and other services./.
