(VEN) - The International Travel Expo - Ho Chi Minh City 2014 (ITE HCMC 2014) will take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) from September 11-13. It will be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and hosted by Ho Chi Minh City.
Businesses from 26 Vietnamese provinces and cities and 15 other countries and territories have registered to participate in ITE HCMC 2014 with the number of pavilions amounting to 184, accounting for 75 percent of projection. Through this event, the organizing board would like to convey a message, “Five countries - One destination”, which was created based on the high consensus of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, with the aim to tap the potential and bring into play the advantages for tourism development of Mekong countries.
In the framework of ITE HCMC 2014, a workshop will be held gathering the mayors and tourism ministers of Lower Mekong countries. Notably, there will be for the first time a lantern-decorated boat parade on the Saigon River. A workshop on tourism source markets and the tourism markets of Muslim countries will also be held.
ITE HCMC 2014 will be the 10th event of its kind. The expo has become a major annual event of the Vietnamese tourism sector, attracting the participation of a growing number of regional and global travel firms./.
