(VEN) - Under the auspices of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) has coordinated with the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (UCIMA) and the Italian Manufacturers’ Association of Machinery for the Graphic, Converting and Paper Industry (ACIMGA) to organize the Italian Booth at the Propak & Printech Vietnam 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, from March 19 to 21.
At this event, 22 Italian companies have introduced their latest processing and packaging solutions and technologies for use in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries; food processing technology; and packaging and converting technologies.
Specifically, at the Propak Vietnam 2019, there are 17 Italian companies led by UCIMA, which are those designers and manufacturers of diversified machinery for use in the fields of processing, filling, capping and primary and secondary packaging. These companies are ABL S.p.A., AROL S.p.A., B.A. Processing S.r.l., Bertolaso, CFT Group, GAI Macchine Imbottigliatrici S.p.A., ISB Industries, Megadyne S.p.A., P.E. Labellers S.p.A., Penta – Piovan Group, PFM Spa Packaging Machinery, SPS Italiana Pack System S.p.A., Raytec Vision S.p.A., SACMI, Tropical Food Machinery S.r.l., Turatti S.r.l. and UNIFILL S.r.l. This year, the number of enterprises specializing in the food processing industry, particularly in fruit and vegetable processing, has increased remarkably. “Propak Vietnam represents a major chance for both Vietnamese and Italian companies to communicate and to strengthen their cooperation. In order to increase the quality of local products the best available technologies are needed”, Enrico Aureli, UCIMA Chairman said.
At the Printech Vietnam 2019 organized by ACIMGA, five Italian companies have introduced the latest technologies for use in the printing, packaging and labeling fields. These companies are EUROPROGETTI S.r.l., MULTIPRESS S.r.l., Uteco Group, ZATOR S.r.l. and CONVERTING S.r.l.
Aldo Peretti, President of ACIMGA, said: “The strong developing market of Vietnam is tempting more international and Europeans companies to root themselves on this side of the world and market data confirms the trend: there’s a growth in food and beverage, healthcare and personal care industries, a bright future for our business. Vietnam, a country where the demand for new technologies increases every day, is a great challenge for us. And Italian companies are ready to boost the Vietnam market with our Industry 4.0 know-how, yet a real excellence of the ‘Made in Italy’ around the world.”
Italy is one of the major manufacturers of graphic, paper and cardboard processing and converting machinery in the world. Particularly, Italy is the world leader in manufacturing rotogravure and flexographic printing machinery as well as machinery for paper and cardboard processing and converting. The Italian automatic packaging machinery industry’s leadership position is based on four essential factors: a high level of technology and product quality; an extremely high level of customization and operating flexibility of machinery; rapid after-sales support in all markets worldwide; and a high degree of competitiveness due to the combination of large integrated groups and highly specialized small and medium-sized enterprises that as a whole offer a full range of machinery for all types of products. Most of the packaging machinery produced is absorbed by the food, beverages, alcoholic beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and personal care goods producers. The rest is used by the producers of tobacco, chemicals/petrochemicals and tissues.
According to Paolo Lemma, Italian Trade Commissioner to Vietnam, most of the companies participating in the Propak & Printech Vietnam 2019 have had distributors, agencies, representative offices or branches in Vietnam. In addition, they are also seeking further opportunities in this emerging market, as well as consolidating cooperation relationship with Vietnamese businesses and looking for new partners.
“In 2018, Italy continued to affirm her position as one of the leading manufacturers in the packaging and printing industry. In the first 11 months of 2018, the total export turnover of packaging and printing machinery for the Italian food, beverage and tobacco sectors amounted to some 3.9 billion euro. The value of equipment and machinery exported from Italy to Vietnam was 25.2 million euro, up by 2.4% from 2017”, said Mr. Lemma.
