This year’s event features the participation of 171 companies from thirteen countries and territories around the world, including China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Hong Kong (China).

Covering an area of 6,000 square meters, HANOITEX 2016 introduced equipment and materials for the textile and garment industry, such as equipment for spinning, weaving and dyeing, automated sewing lien, fabrics, yarn, design software and technological solutions.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung said that the expo would offer an opportunity for Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises to access numerous modern technologies and equipment from advanced countries.

Through the expo, Vietnamese businesses will set out new orientations for increasing added-value products, contributing to the development of Vietnamese textile and garment industry in the integration process.

Vietnamese textiles and garments are expected to have more opportunities to develop in the time ahead, particularly due to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Vietnam-Eurasia Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the FTA between Vietnam and the ROK.

In 2015, the export turnover of Vietnam’s textiles and garments reached US$27.3 billion, and it was expected to reach US$30 billion this year./.
