(VEN) - Industry Promotion Center 1 (IPC1) under the Agency for Regional Industry and Trade (implementing national industry promotion programs in northern provinces and cities) has been doing a good job in assisting rural industrial manufacturers to improve production capability and product quality.

For example, the Tung An Production and Trading Co., Ltd. in My Xa Commune of Nam Dinh Province’s Nam Dinh City has shifted from producing mechanical products and metal coating to making support industry products for textile, garment and leather industries. The company has invested heavily in advanced equipment and automation to cater for this transformation, with part of its metal cutter cost funded by IPC1.

With financial assistance and advice from IPC1, the Kinh Bac-Thanh Nam Joint Stock Company in Binh Minh Commune of Nam Dinh Province has procured new machinery and equipment to expand production and improve productivity and product quality.

Tung An and Kinh Bac-Thanh Nam are just two of many businesses that have been supported by IPC1 with national industry promotion program funding. In 2018 alone, IPC1 implemented six types of projects with a total budget of VND18.68 billion, notable among them technical demonstration models and advanced machinery and equipment application projects. An IPC1 representative said these projects helped create exemplary production models, form production-distribution chains and maximize investment efficiency of rural industrial production establishments.

In 2019, apart from continuing to implement vital national industry promotion projects, IPC1 will develop plans to implement 14 industry promotion projects at a total cost of about VND22 billion, up 17 percent from 2018. The center will work with provincial and city departments of industry and trade to implement industry promotion activities, giving priority to improvement of rural industrial production capacity. It will also formulate technical and economic standards for industry promotion and a survey to develop industry promotion plans to 2020.

In 2018, apart from assisting rural industrial producers to improve production capabilities, IPC1 successfully

organized 11 training courses for new rural area development officials from Nam Dinh and Ha Nam provinces.
