In 2017, its revenue and export value reached US$37 billion and US$31.2 billion, respectively. The sector has generated jobs for nearly three million workers.

(VEN) - It’s business as usual in one of Vietnam’s leading textile factories, where 27-year-old Phan Chi Cao works in the laser unit. He uses laser machines to “dry process” denim apparel - a technique used to achieve the cool, faded look some consumers crave. With the lasers, Cao can dry around 300 jeans a day, a huge jump in productivity from the labor-intensive manual process, which allows for only 20 to 30 daily and exposes workers to harmful chemicals.

(VEN) - The development of the Vietnamese electronics industry offers great prospects to turn Vietnam into the world’s new electronics manufacturing hub. This was the thrust of NEPCON Vietnam 2019, the country’s only exhibition of SMT (surface-mount technology), testing technologies, equipment and support industries for electronics manufacturing that took place in Hanoi in mid-September. It displayed more than 200 brands in seven international pavilions from the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, China, Singapore, and Vietnam.
