India Festival to be held first in Vietnam

(VEN) - The Indian Ministry of Culture and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism will hold an India Festival for the first time in Hanoi from March 5-15.

The festival will show Indian cultural identities such as dancing, food, Buddhist Festival, the art of Mehendi and Yoga.

To inaugurate the festival, 16 Indian leading dancers will show dances typical of six regions in India during a classic dance festival, which will be launched on March 5 at the Hanoi Opera House.

Two Indian famous chefs will present traditional dishes during a food festival from March 6-8 at the Sheraton Hotel in Hanoi.

A Buddhist festival will also be inaugurated during the Indian Festival including Zen Buddhism, reciting the Buddhist scriptures and Buddhist sculptures made by Indian monks and displayed from March 11-15 at the Phat Tich Pagoda in Bac Ninh Province.

After Hanoi, the Indian Festival will be launched in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City./.
