The 37.5ha area of Dai Noi (Citadel) in Thuan Thanh Ward, Hue, including Hoang Thanh (Royal City) and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden City) which was home to 13 reigns of the Nguyen Dynasty from King Gia Long to King Bao Dai is surrounded by a 1m-thick and 4m-high brick wall and a moat crossed over by 10 stone bridges famous for their architecture built more than two centuries ago.

The tombs of the Nguyen kings like Tu Duc, Ming Mang and Khai Dinh have been noted for their original combination of Buddhist and open architectural characteristics. Visitors may well have a particular feeling while visiting these impressive places of worship of the Nguyen kings on a misty day.

Hue also attracts visitors through a range of traditional delicacies including beef rice noodles, sweet rice porridge, bloated fern-shaped cake, dumplings and grilled meatballs.
