Premier nutrition company Herbalife Vietnam announced its sponsorship of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2020. This is the first time that the company becomes an official sponsor of the football competition. The sponsorship includes financial support and sports nutrition products for football players who will participate in the competition.
Mr. Vu Van Thang, General Manager for Herbalife Vietnam and Cambodia, said, "We are delighted and proud to be an official supporter of this important football competition in the ASEAN region. The sports sponsorship exemplifies our commitment to helping people live healthy active lifestyles. Also, we hope our nutrition support will help the participating players optimize their performance on the field.”
AFF President, Major General Khiev Sameth, said, “With a population of over 600 million people where football is the number one sport, the AFF Suzuki Cup offers a great bridge for sponsors to get closer to South East Asian fans through their passion. Herbalife Nutrition is a renowned international brand and we are delighted to welcome them into the AFF Suzuki Cup family. We are confident that they will bring great value to our players as well as fans in Asia and have a meaningful connection with them all."
Herbalife Vietnam started its long-term partnership with Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC) and Vietnam Paralympic Association (VPA) from 2012. Herbalife Nutrition aims to support aspirations of Vietnam athletes to outperform and garner better results in regional and international sporting events. Under this partnership, Herbalife Vietnam provides its wide range of nutrition products, sports nutrition consulting and training to the athletes and coaches of VOC and VPA.
Globally, Herbalife Nutrition is proud to sponsor more than 190 world-class athletes, teams and events around the globe, including Cristiano Ronaldo.
Late last year, the AFF announced that the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 will be held from 5 December 2021 to 1 January 2022, following the postponement of the tournament due to the pandemic. The AFF is continuing to work closely with the various Member Associations and partners to provide further updates on the 2021 tournament as soon as they are available.
