Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai meets with voters in Thach That districts
The statement was made by Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai while meeting with voters in Son Tay town as well as Ba Vi, Thach That and Phuc Tho districts on August 13-14.
At the meetings, voters appreciated results of the first session of the 14th National Assembly (NA), particularly selection of appropriate key positions for the legislative body and government.
The voters voiced their concerns over numerous pressing issues including the slow implementation of the project restoring Tich river in Thuan commune, Ba Vi district as well as environmental pollution in Xuan Son waste treatment zone in Son Tay town and in trade villages.
Politburo member Hai said that leaders of the capital were aware of weaknesses in infrastructure, particularly transport systems in suburban areas.
He affirmed that due to limited allocated money, the progress of the project restoring Tich river was slow. The city’s authorities have implemented numerous measures to speed up the project including downsizing it as well as calling for capital support and investment under the BT (build-transfer) model.
In order to overcome environmental pollution caused by landfills, the city would develop the landfills with new waste treatment technologies, added the Politburo member.
He also asked the governments at all levels and people to continue to improve the quality of the criteria for building new-style rural areas in localities.
Regarding the other recommendations, the Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Hai noted that the Party Committee would direct relevant agencies to solve./.
