Hanoi is willing to create favourable conditions for Norwegian enterprises to invest in and do business in Hanoi, said Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Chairman Chung made the statement at the meeting with Innovation Norway and seven leading Norwegian corporations in Norway on May 24 while he accompanied Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to visit the Nordic country.
The seven corporations include ITS Noway, Pixii AS, Ruter, Avfall Norge, Cambi, Host, and Tomra which are operating in the areas of smart transportation, energy, public transport management, waste treatment and management, among others.
Leaders of the corporations briefed the Hanoi chairman of their strengths, experience and advanced technology in waste and sludge treatment into fertilizer, plastic recycling, payment methods, smart transportation applications, and others.
They also expressed their wish to cooperate with Hanoi to invest in and transfer advanced technology to the city.
The Hanoi leader introduced about the socio-economic development situation of Hanoi and challenges that the city is facing in urban development, noting that Hanoi stands ready to facilitate Norwegian enterprises in investing in and running business in the city.
Chung said that Hanoi wished to learn from Norway’s experience in urban management as well as its advanced technology in areas that Hanoi is in need of to serve urban development in a smart and sustainable manner.
Representatives from Innovation Norway and other corporations committed to send their delegations to Hanoi to implement contents discussed at the meeting.
