(VEN) - The small Ha Nhi Hoa ethnic group in the northwestern provinces of Dien Bien and Lai Chau lives close to nature and its costumes reflect this habitat.
The dominant color of the women’s costumes is red, which is combined with white, yellow, and green patterns to make their clothes as colorful as flowers in the forest.
The costume of Ha Nhi women is relatively intricate, consisting of a hat, a blouse, a waistband, a brassiere. The blouse consists of two layers, with the shorter one worn on the outside and a long main layer inside. The blouses are embroidered with the unique motifs of the group, combining simple and complex patterns, such as chain embroidery, multiple-shaped embroidery, or traditional dash embroidery designs.
Each costume of the Ha Nhi Hoa women is a unique work of art, reflecting human life and the relationship of the Ha Nhi Hoa ethnic people to mountains and forests.
