The price of RON 92 petrol was slashed by VND260 per litre while biofuel E5 was cut by VND425 per litre as of 3pm July 20 following the decline in fuel prices in the world market in the past 15 days, announced the Ministries of Finance and Industry and Trade.
RON 92 petrol is now being sold at VND20,120 per litre
Under the price reduction, RON 92 petrol is now being sold at VND20,120 per litre and biofuel E5 is being sold at VND19,625 per litre.
In the meantime, kerosene saw the sharpest decrease, by VND1,128 per litre, diesel 0.05S dropped by VND1,112 per litre and fuel oil 3.5S fell by VND872 per kilogram.
In addition to price adjustments, the Ministries of Finance and Industry and Trade asked fuel traders to stop using the fuel price stabilisation fund. Fuel traders currently have to extract around VND362 to VND527 per litre or kilogram of petrol and oil to add to the price stabilisation fund for the purpose of price stabilisation.
The latest fuel adjustments were made on July 4, under which prices of petrol and biofuel E5 went down by VND331 per litre while prices of kerosene, diesel and fuel oil dropped from VND221 to VND424 per litre or kilogram.
Since early this year, the highest RON92 petrol price was recorded at VND20,710 per litre on June 19./.
