(VEN) - In a shortened month that included the Lunar New Year holiday, Ford Vietnam’s momentum continued with its best-ever February performance. Overall retail sales rose 42 percent year-over-year to 925 units.
The EcoSport, Ranger, Transit, Everest, Focus and Fiesta nameplates all contributed to the record February.
“Our Ford showroom in Vietnam is continuing to attract a wide range of customers by meeting their respective needs and requirements for versatile, fuel efficient vehicles that are equipped with smart and safety technologies, are competitively priced and deliver fantastic value,” said Jesus Metelo Arias, managing director, Ford Vietnam.
The popular EcoSport compact urban SUV delivered sales of 217 units in February. Since launching in Vietnam in mid-2014 the EcoSport is helping to establish a whole new vehicle segment in the country, offering and attractive package of smart features, standout design and impressive fuel economy.
Sales of the class-defining Ranger – the best-selling pickup truck in Vietnam in 2014 – also contributed to Ford’s successes in February with retail sales of 190 units.
The Ford Transit – Vietnam’s best-selling commercial van in 2014 – maintained its number one position in the bus and van segment in February with retail sales of 275 units.
Demand continued for the dependable Everest family SUV as retail sales rose 53 percent from a year ago to 122 units.
The sporty Fiesta delivered retail sales of 58 units, driven by demand for the high-performance and internationally-acclaimed 1.0L EcoBoost engine, while sales of the technology-packed Focus rose 19 percent to 63 units.
