(VEN) - Ford Vietnam reported an all-time record month as July retail sales soared 92 percent year-over-year to 2,704 vehicles.
The EcoSport SUV, Ranger pickup and Transit commercial van led strong sales across the Ford lineup in Vietnam for the month -- each continuing leadership of their respective segments in July, and helping Ford’s market share rise 2.8 points from a year ago to 9.7 percent.
Ford sales year-to-date have now risen 58 percent from last year to 16,320 vehicles, as Ford continues to be one of the fastest growing automatic brands in Vietnam this year.
“EcoSport, Ranger and Transit are continuing to lead the way for us, with each further gaining in popularity, and all helping drive record sales this year,” said Pham Van Dung, managing director, Ford Vietnam.
Sales of the segment-defining Ranger soared 224 percent in July to 1,256 vehicles. Ranger continues to set the benchmark in the pickup segment for design, comfort and refinement. Its year-to-date sales have jumped 115 percent to 8,124 vehicles.
The versatile Transit continued to lead the commercial van segment in July, delivering an all-time record month with retail sales increasing 75 percent year-over-year to 719 vehicles. Year-to-date sales of Transit have risen 45 percent to 4,118 vehicles, as business owners and operators across a range of industries continue to appreciate the durability, versatility and value proposition that Transit delivers.
The EcoSport also delivered an all-time record month in Vietnam with July retail sales that jumped 69 percent to 522 vehicles. The EcoSport is the best-selling compact SUV in Vietnam with year-to-date total sales increasing 33 percent to 2,742 vehicles.
