(VEN) - Instead of traveling and visiting Da Nang by common vehicles such as cars and trains, tourists can contemplate this land by helicopter. This service is available for the first time in Vietnam and is deployed by the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (Vietnam Helicopters).
Two sightseeing flights by helicopter successfully took off at the Da Nang International Airport in early 2015. The whole wild and grandiose pictures of the Son Tra Peninsula, Marble Mountain and Hai Van Pass have been viewed within 15-minute flight. According to the first visitors’ evaluation, this service is a new and attractive form of tourism and Da Nang from a bird’s-eye view has become amazingly beautiful.
Da Nang, recently named as the most worth living city in Vietnam, has been increasingly attracting more visitors. As visiting this city by car and train has become familiar, a new and unique form of tourism would highly meet tourists’ demand.
Vietnam Helicopters has launched Da Nang sightseeing tours by helicopter. This service is delivered by Central Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH Central), based in Da Nang.
Sightseeing service by helicopters a new project of the Vietnam Helicopters and is deployed for the first time in Da Nang. The project offers two major packages of 12-minute tour flights and charter flights by the EC130T2 Helicopter manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. For 12-minute tour flights, helicopters will take off at Nuoc Man Helibase, enabling tourists to enjoy the splendid scenery of Da Nang such as the Marble Mountain, Da Nang beaches, bridges across the Han River and the Linh Ung Pagoda and finally land at the Nuoc Man Helibase. For charter flights, tourists can enjoy bird’s-eye views of landscapes such as the Son Tra Peninsula, Hoi An City, Ba Na Hills, Cham Islands, My Son Sanctuary, Ly Son Island District and Son Doong Cave or other places at their requests.
Formerly, Vietnam Helicopters had deployed a number of helicopter services in Ha Long Bay, Vung Tau and Phan Thiet, utilizing offshore-configured helicopters, which is not quite suitable. In the coming time, the corporation will use France’s EC130T2 helicopters with outstanding features of state-of-the-art technologies, visibility, comfort, quietness and safety. These versatile helicopters, equipped with air conditioning and intercommunication system, are ideal for five or six passengers to enjoy the sightseeing.
12-minute tour flights will be priced at VND 3 million per passenger and this service will be officially put into operation on this April 24 in Da Nang.
Mr. Vo Duy Khuong, Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee, said that total visits to Da Nang in 2014 reached 3.8 million. Therefore, 12-minute tour flights and charter flights will help persify tourism products of Da Nang and contribute to attracting more and more visitors in the future.
In addition to traditional forms of sightseeing, visitors now can choose to experience Da Nang by helicopter. This new and unique form of tourism promises to not only bring compelling services for visitors but also help develop Vietnam’s tourism sector.
