Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue assessed that EuroCham is a factor that helped boost the investment ties between Vietnam and EU in recent period.

The Deputy PM appreciated the contributions of EuroCham to Vietnam in organizing the 2017 Vietnam Business Forum, in addition to publishing the White Book 2017 and its enthusiastic involvement in dialogues and policy-making consultancy with the Vietnamese Government.

EuroCham Chairman Jens Ruebbert stated that apart from publishing the White Book 2017, European businesses are interested in green and sustainable growth and will continue constructing and publishing the Green Book in the time ahead. EuroCham spoke highly of the Vietnamese Government’s administrative reform along with its effort to create a transparent, open business environment.

Jens Ruebbert added that the EU and Vietnam should promptly finalise the signing work for the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to be enforced and it will spare no effort in urging the EU to ratify the agreement “as soon as possible” for the interests of businesses and the people.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said at this moment Vietnam and the EU are revising legal policies and working towards ratification of the agreement, therefore, the voice of Eurocham and European businesses will help quicken this process.

During their meeting, both sides discussed matters relating to Vietnam’s animal quarantine, regulations and standards on milk and milk production to be imported into Europe, the import and export of pharmaceuticals and tax levies on alcohol and wines.
